چکیده

In connection to present energy demand and waste management crisis in Pakistan, refuse-derived fuel (RDF) is gaining importance as a potential co-fuel for existing coal fired power plants. This research focuses on the co-combustion of low-quality local with RDF mean reduce environmental issues terms strategy. The combustion characteristics kinetics coal, RDF, their blends were experimentally investigated micro-thermal gravimetric analyzer at four heating rates 10, 20, 30, 40 °C/min ramp temperature from 25 °C 1000 °C. mass percentages 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, respectively. results show that increases, reactivity resulting lower ignition temperatures shift peak burnout zone. indicates there was certain interaction during process RDF. activation energies samples calculated using kinetic analysis based Kissinger–Akahira–Sunnose (KAS) Flynn–Wall–Ozawa (FWO), isoconversional methods. Both methods have produced closer average between 95–121 kJ/mol. With 30% proportion, hit minimum value 95 kJ/mol by KAS method 103 FWO method.

Comparison of coal/solid recovered fuel (SRF) with coal/refuse derived fuel (RDF) in a fluidized bed reactor.

An experimental study was undertaken to compare the differences between municipal solid waste (MSW) derived solid recovered fuel (SRF) (complying with CEN standards) and refuse derived fuel (RDF). Both fuels were co-combusted with coal in a 50 kW fluidized bed combustor and the metal emissions were compared. Synthetic SRF was prepared in the laboratory by grinding major constituents of MSW such...

Air and Fuel Staged Co-combustion of Coal with Biomass in Power Station Boilers

The overall objective of this investigation is to develop a technology to employ biomass as substitute fuel for coal to help reduce NOx.. It was achieved by governing NOx formation kinetics through in-furnace air and fuel staged co-combustion technology. An extensive series of experimentation was carried out in a 20 kW down fired combustor to evaluate the effect of co-firing of Shea meal, Cotto...

Oxy - fuel combustion of coal and biomass blends

The ignition temperature, burnout and NO emissions of blends of a semi-anthracite and a high-volatile bituminous coal with 10 and 20 wt.% of olive waste were studied under oxy-fuel combustion conditions in an entrained flow reactor (EFR). The results obtained under several oxy-fuel atmospheres (21%O2-79%CO2, 30%O2-70% CO2 and 35%O265%CO2) were compared with those attained in air. The results in...
